Titus, 6 years old, is from Kikobero in Uganda. He is an orphan who lives with another family in the village. He is now going to school in his village and he is enjoying it so much. He loves to try everything and is full of life. Thanks to his sponsor, he now has a chance to make something of his life and hope for the future.
At Patchwork Kids we believe that education is the key to releasing children and their communities from the grip of poverty and giving them the opportunity for a better future.
We also realise that children need food, water, shelter, uniforms, stationary, transport and personal support in order for their time in school to be successful. We provide as many of these as we can, where necessary.
Sponsorship provides a necessary consistency of support for the child, as well as the invaluable knowledge that they are valued and supported by someone in another country.
Sponsorship values children as individuals and so helps us to provide personal support and care that is tailored to their needs and ambitions.
For the sponsor, it is a rewarding way to fight poverty as you will have the opportunity to develop a real relationship with the child you are supporting.
After you become a sponsor you will receive a photograph of your child and some information about their situation and their community. Then you will be encouraged to write a letter to your child and can look forward to receiving messages from them and reports about their progress. You will also be able to follow general updates about the work of Patchwork Kids in the communities and schools on our blog and following us on twitter and facebook.
