All of Patchwork Kids’ work in India supports children from Riverside school, Pachmari.
Riverside School is based on a remote plateau in deepest India – Pachmarhi - in Madhya Pradesh, one of the poorest regions of India. We now support scores of children at this school, year on year, purely as a result of people like you.
Pachmarhi is surrounded on all sides by a 1,000 sq kilometers of Satpura National Park. There is very little employment as there are no major businesses in the area and no agriculture as most of the land is protected.
The village draws in many indigenous people who are unable to make a living from surrounding tribal villages with the hope of temporary labour work either with the Forest Department or Government Road Works. The menial salaries they are paid would never enable them put their children through full time education.
